A Conversation for Great Ways to Spend a Sunday

Sundays are there for the taking ...

Dontbry (or Sunday) is the living embodiment of all things procrastination. Why put off today what you can put off on sunday just as well. It is a non-day ; a twilight zone between the vibrancy and excitement of Doobry (Saturday) and the misery, pain and anguish of Sodit (Monday). You're not expected to do anything but at the same time you just know that come Sodit morning you'll regret not having done more of what you thought you might perhaps do.

The secret behind Sunday fulfillment is in carpe-ing the diem. Sundays aren't like Saturdays ... saturdays flirt with your affection - they're great and they know it and they know that you know that they know it and they love themselves even more as a result. If saturdays could have a motto "Do with me what you will and the devil take the hindmost" would probably be it. Sundays on the other hand are the Ugly Ducklings ... there's beauty within but it's hard to spot behind the wanton, brazen, lustfulness of saturday and the demonic, looming, filth of monday.

As for how to spend the perfec sunday then the scope is as broad as it is wide. There's nothing worse than waking up on a monday and thinking "I wish I'd done more over the weekend" ... doesn't matter what you do but you should definitely do something.

Summer calls for trips to parks and beaches. Picnics, swims in rivers, frisbee on the green ... a long day of Tennis, Pimms, Grass stained knees and Jumpers for goalposts
Winter calls for late rises, mornings with the newspapers and a brunch followed by perhaps a kick of football, a run around or a game of golf followed by a late lunch fuelled with the heady fumes of gallons of bloody mary - bloody shame if you're driving ( smiley - winkeye ) and then further journalistic indulgence infront of a roaring fire.
Autumn is for strolling hand in hand through piles of leaves, wrapped up snug and returning to the warmth of the house.
Spring calls for something similar but returning to the house preceeded by a jar down the local which following the fresh air of spring and the natural spring time urges leaves you hot, flustered and gagging for it!

You've got to do something - make the most of the short time you have before monday comes barging in with all the grace of an arthritic water buffalo, demanding attention and generally making a nuisance of itself.
