MMF This was/is an amazing article. For months and months I have wondered what all the fuss was about elephants that you kept mentioning; and places you had visited to see them. It made no sense (other than your obvious enjoyment and commitment to the cause.

This article has really brought it alive and explained everything.

It was fun, and I've made some fantastic friends through the Parade as well.

We've recently returned from a six day visit to Copenhagen where 8 of us saw a large number of new, decorated elephants. The elephants in each Parade get auctioned off, so each one is unique.

I'll return in a fortnight to hopefully see the ones I missed.

After that I'm visiting Bristol for an unrelated visit to see decorated Gorillas, followed by Jungle City in Edinburgh and a huge display of baby and adult elephants, tigers, orang utans, crocodiles and hornbills.

Quite the traveller, but I enjoy it...

Nice entry, MMF. Pity I never managed to see any of the elephants IRL.

I would however appreciate to see your photos. Please dispute the removing of your link and ask for it to be reinstated.

Why can a YouTube link be ok, but my photo collection breaches alleged 'House Rules'. Which it doesn't.

It was very dark in the nightclub to take a good photo. Also, because of the nature of 'Gerald' I didn't want to offend anyone. The leaves really are graphic, so I picked a slightly blurry photo intentionally.

Yes, I thought the Beeb might not have accepted a clearer photo.

They didn't originally include it. I had to ask. The Ed's said they only attached photos if it was the first entry.

And I don't get a photo credit either.

Maybe I didn't explain that well.

Here's the reply I received, after I sent my e-mail, was:

'Not all Entries have pictures. It is the Editors' decision as to which
Entries get an image. It is the main Entry alone that usually gets the
pic and this week we decided to illustrate the Scrabble Entry.'

'However, we remember the Gerald pic, and we've decided to now add it to
your Entry.'

Makes life difficult for the CA/Photographers to get a blob/photo on every entry.

As I said elsewhere, the moderators are in error in failing your link for the reason they have given. The Ed(s) can generally sort this sort of thing out if you e-mail them explaining the problem.
