This was well written and interesting for me as an RLSS trainer. The only point i would correct is that up to 72 hours after a near drowning, secondary drowning can take place where water in the lungs can irritate the alveoli (air sacs) and prevent the exchange of 02/CO2

Thanks for the comments HipSupport, I have only just noticed them. I imagine you are right about the 72 hours danger period. I have only ever seen 24 hours mentioned. But the basic premise is maintained that near-drowing victims should seek medical attention.
