A Conversation for Slugs
Little White 'Things'

This has perplexed me for years. What are the little white things that can aften be observed zipping about on a slug? Not that I get too close to them these days, it's just that I remember from my childhood, having a fascination with creepy, slimy things and noticing what look like tiny grains of salt sliding on the slug surface.
Can anyone shed any light?
