Seem to suggest that in addition to new drug therapies, DDT may be making a comeback. I feel fractionally more cheerful about prospects than I did when we last exchanged views.

Indeed - although all the publicised research seems to be aimed at eliminating the mosquito rather than eliminating the plasmidium (sp?) - for example Israelli scientists are testing a method of spraying trees with a sugary insecticide that attracts the mosquito as it needs nectar fuel in order to go off hunting for blood...
