I think there's a mistake in your "origin of Dilbert." You say he was originally created for slide-shows. However, in "7 Years of Highly Defective People," Scott Adams says the original Dilbert was just a doodle that he put on his white board every so often. Then he had a contest to name him, and "Dilbert" won.
An interesting thing about this is... there was ALREADY a cartoon called Dilbert. It was in navy newspapers, and the cartoons were about a really bad navy pilot. His name was Dilbert! But by the time Scott figured it out it was too late to change the name.
