I find it odd that there is no mention here of Turkish which has no words for he or she, just it.
So the sentence: "He told her to give him her book" in Turkish becomes "It told it to give it its book."
And Turkish culture is pretty chauvanistic, so that gives the lie to that UNESCO nonsense about language shaping our thoughts.
