DA ; Simply Vicky: Don't get pithy with me!

I am a feminist studying linguistics, and your entry is really excellent! I usually use s/he when writing, but the distinction isn't pronounceable. Back in 2000, I submitted a Psych essay using she as a generic through out, because our lecturer had used 'he' all through the course. *She* (yes, a woman, with lots of sons, and a strange attitude) - she didn't like that one bit! She called me sexist - I hope I didn't lose marks...
