A Conversation for Citybreaks

For people outside the UK, this is a particularly popular location for a city break holiday. I was there last autumn for the first time, and was very impressed.
The setting is really spectacular. The centre areas of the Old Town and New Town are small enough to make everything very easy to reach, if your hotel is reasonably central. The Castle, the Royal Mile and Holyrood Palace are all well worth seeing. The Botanic Gardens are well worth the short bus trip from the centre. There seem to be plenty of good restaurants. It's a great palce for that kind of visit and I certainly intend to go back!

And don't depend on being able to buy a good selection of whisky at Edinburgh airport on the way back! The Scotch Whisky Centre on the Royal Mile has a huge selection of single malts in all kinds of sizes. I should have bought my souvenirs there...
