A Conversation for Stargate SG-1 - the TV Show
So. Farewell then, Stargate SG-1
Sho - employed again! Started conversation Aug 22, 2006
The words 'finally', 'out of my misery', 'put out of' and 'been' can now all be arranged into a sentence which applies to my feelings on the news that Stargate SG-1 has been cancelled after 10 seasons.

Quite frankly, IMO, it should have been cancelled at the end of S7.
but still, it is the end of an era. Finally.

anyone still subscribed?
I haven't watched S9 and S10 so I had no idea what was coming when I watched the last ep of S10 last night
not too bad at all - if they'd written Vala like that from the beginning, if they'd let Ben Browder act a bit, if they'd let Daniel be Daniel (yaaayyy, like they did last night) i might even have forgiven the PTB for foisting that awful Dr. Lam and the excrable Gen Landry on us.
Might.
so. Farewell then, Stargate SG-1.

I'm still here
It didn't exactly go out with a bang but some of it was very good, SG-1 aging was well acted by everyone. I was so sorry to see Thor and the Asgard go, I liked the little grey guy. Season's 1-8 will be missed not so sure about 9 and 10

I hated S9 so much (what I saw of it) I didn't give S10 even a passing glance, until last night

The whole Merlin/Arthur bit was too much, Vala got a bit annoying but last night was some of the better bits of acting I've seen, escpecially Ben Browder, he was good in the way he portreyed Mitchell letting go

The Apprentice Posted Mar 15, 2007
A little bit premature... as it isn't gone. Two telemovies in the pipeline to resolve the outstanding Ori storyline means that the series might be over, but SG-1 haven't walked through the gate for the last time.
Personally, I enjoyed S9 - 10 - and I even managed to get someone who never watched Stargate consistently prior to the Ori (because it was too confusing, boring, etc.) to sit down every single week.

And they'll be making guest appearences in Atlantis too

which is poo, IMO
the Ori story line would have been ok if it hadn't been combined with the excrable writing and planning that accompanied the forceful shoehorning into a perfectly good show of two stupidly and hastily conceived characters
I might watch the films - but probably not.
In fact, for me SG-1 went off my radar sometime during S8. But there you have it.
As for Atlantis... the less said the better
