I should think so too after all your hard work
It is a really good clear entry. Except that you didn't mention that the General is really a turtle

He's a turtle?... quick, Editor: the general is a turtle.

He can't be. Turtles are ninjas.

Coniraya Posted Aug 2, 2002
He has definitely got a turtle face and any minute I expect it disappear into his neck.
He's a Mutant Ninja Turtle, then

But he looks too much like Sculley's dad to be a turtle...

Coniraya Posted Aug 2, 2002
Even more reason to be suspicious, I would say.

You're obviously a Hammy Fan... you've never mentioned it in the Drool Thread though... get over there and out yourself woman

There always has to be the Daddy figure to worry about the rest of them.
He was rather sweet in that episode where it looked like he was going to have to let his granddaughter down.

Scully has a dad?
I remember the mother and the now-deceased sister...
I think the General looks more like a tortoise myself, but then, I've never seen a turtle up close.....

Scully's dad was General Hammond - only he was calling himself Scully, and may have been a navy man - and the first of the clan to shuffle off this mortal coil. They had this Moby Dick thing where his pet name for her was Starbuck and hers for him was Ahab. He might have tried to send a message to her through a serial killer.
I think this was in an episode called 'Across the Sea' or 'Over the Sea' which was a song that was important to them as father and daughter.
The sad thing is I'm running this off from memory, and I haven't even watched the X-Files in almost two years.
A little web searching, and I find it was 'Beyond the Sea', and his name was Captain William Scully. I was disturbingly close.

Disturbingly!
Mind you, I never ever watch the X-Files.
But wasn't he someone's (Air Force) dad in Twin Peaks too?

Major Garland Briggs, the IMDb tells me. I guess it's the old-soldier demeanour (although I believe Don S Davis was an army captain, thus lower in rank than he ever plays).
