The Campaign for Thursday - Serious Opposition to the Thingites?
Created | Updated Dec 8, 2005
When it started in November last year, the Campaign for Thursday was branded 'unoriginal' and 'pathetic' by the Thingites, who claimed that the campaign would generally fail and come to approximately nothing. Despite the fact that the campaign isn't nearly of the same magnitude as the Thingite hoard, it does, however, seem to be functioning quite well as a thorn in their side. If you don't believe me, have a look at this:

What do the Thingites Think?
" Th***day.......hey keep my pressence here quiet guys! My thingite mates might misinterpret me fraternising with you...But I have to say you serve very good "
—a Thingite who hangs out in the Thursday bar and wishes to remain anonymous.
" Yep - my superior brain power is exactly that!!!"
—MysteriousOne replying to the question as to whether he had the brain power of 'an eleven month old turkey which was stupid enough to decapitate itself... on a piece of piano wire which just happened to be viciously blunt?'
"Do I take your lot seriously? Hmm good question. I take very few things seriously, h2g2 among them and Thursdays especially; advocates of Thursdays doubly so."
- Clive the flying ostrich — see the rest of his post here.
"...you are very much like ants at a picnic. Meaning no one cares about one ant, but bring out the entire tribe and crawl all over the jam sandwiches and you might be noticed. Especially by the first person to try the new jam and ant sarnies "
—Cosmic Llama
So all in all the answer is: no, the Campaign is not yet a serious opposition to the Thingites, but at least they're not getting complacent.
