A quick and easy salad dressing: mix together 5 parts olive oil and 1 part balsamic vinegar.
Told you it was easy!
If you don't have balsamic vinegar, you could use white/red wine vinegar, or perhaps tarragon vinger.

Adding salt and pepper: You could put the salt and pepper in the dressing, but if you're not going to add a dressing, that won't really work, will it?
And if you sprinkle it straight onto the damp salad, and tends to clump together, so only one person gets any salt...
So, season the bowl, instead of the salad, and give it a good mix. That way you've spread the seasoning out before it even touches the salad!
