A Conversation for Australia
Some time later....

I know quite some time later, but.....
my experience of having lived in Sydney and Melbourne is that when you move to Melbourne from Sydney, Melbournians always ask which city you liked the most.
Sydney siders never ask, because they just assume you could only like living in Sydney.
This suggests that Melbournians do care what sydney siders think of Melbourne, but it isn't reciprocated.
of course, the correct answer is always that you like both cities for different reasons, and Melbournians seem happy with that....although a little confused.
NSW also now has James Squire, which is a bloody good drop! Brewed in Camperdown.
Lastly, Melbournians don't care that sydney had the Olympics in 2000, because they already had them in 1956. Which, of course, leads us to the continual one-upmanship of stadium building. The Sydney Olympic stadium having a larger seating capacity than the MCG, so Melbourne built a new stadium larger than the Olympic stadium.
