"Surfers Paradise, a couple of hours drive south of Brisbane"
ok I live on the Gold Coast (where Surfers is (btw Surfers is tacky)), but it is not a couple of hours south it is 40mins (by car, no trafic), 60mins(by car, with trafic), 55mins (by train), 2-3 days (by public buses, if they are on time)
