December 17th, 1991.
It snowed!
This wouldn't be significant except for the fact that December is in the Australian summer and that for the 3 days before and the 2 after this date, the local temperature topped 30 Centigrade.

How about Cloncurry??
As I recall it's the hottest inhabited place on earth. I was in Austalia for 5 1/2 months (from Canada ... we'll talk about good beer later! ) and stopped in Cloncurry for a day. I was the only tourist in the whole town (not too surprizing!). It was well worth the visit though. Very hot, but a great view from "Sunset Hill".

Why wasn't I told of this event earlier, silverygibbon? It would have gone well in the entry.
Ah yes, Cloncurry! To quote a John Denver song, "I spent a week there, one day".

Sorry ER. I didn't recall it until I read the article. (I think I'd supressed the memory).
I'm sure that is the correct date. Getting out of bed, I pulled on a pair of footy shorts and headed for the pool. Stepping outside was a shock, I can tell you.

Sorry to butt in on your conversation, but if researcher 196451 would go back to there own page and click on the "EDIT PAGE"button and write a little something about yourself , then an "ACE",(Assistant Community Editors), can come and welcome you there properly. Sorry for the interuption.

I think the hottest part in Australia is Marble Bar (spends something like 164 days a year above century (which is, I think 34.5 degrees celcius...) in Western Australia.
But I understand your thinking that 'the curry' is pretty hot... it is.
