A Conversation for Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, UK
Most Neglected eh?
BuffySquirrel Started conversation Jun 12, 2002
It's all a long time ago but I have a vague memory that when my family lived in Cumbria (it was called Westmoreland then however - that's how long ago!) we used to go to Barrow-in-Furness to go to the cinema.
My father hated trailers and advertising and to avoid them refused to turn up at any film's published starting time, so we invariably used to arrive late. I distinctly remember that when we went to see 2001: A Space Odyssey, we joined the film at the point where the action switches from prehistoric Africa to the future. Was I confused!

Yes - I am quite confused (not to mention heartbroken) that my article/Barrow have been so neglected.
Why on earth would you leave Westmorland? (That's when Barrow was Lancashire - so you must have left at least 28 years ago!)

I have an excuse. I was only 9 or 10. I was brutally hauled away by my parents and deposited in deepest Yorkshire.
And yes it was a long time ago!
