A Conversation for Overcoming Writer's Block

I don't have writer's block, not really, I get distracted, lazy or bored but rarely if ever unimaginative.
Why is it then that I don't get writer's block?

Well firstly I live sensibly. The brain will not work if your body isn't. Eat reasonably healthily (the odd cake may be good for moral) and live an active lifestyle (incorporate stairs into your commute). Just don't forget to relax. Innovation occurs with free time.

Generally though the main reason I don't get writer's block is that I am more a consumer of fiction than a producer of it. I watch tv, I read books, listen to the radio, watch an endless variety of youtube vids (fan music videos, lets plays, fan films, reviews) and just generally relax a lot. Into this though comes a feed of nonfiction, the New Scientist feeds exciting and mind blowing revelations right to my brain along with other magazines or wikipedia entries. I consider myself a dabbler of many things as I try to learn a passable amount of a variety of subjects.

This then is your fuel. A ton of experience, emotions, theories and concepts which lay in your memories like tea leaves in a bag, just waiting to be released in a gorgeous flurry of uniqueness.

What then is the spark? Well that's the catch, ideally you'd only write about an idea which interests and sparks your imagination anyway but the reality isn't so easy. When you need a spark in a hurry I recommend a really good Doctor Who episode (pick one, there are loads) or failing that some really anthemic music.
