A Conversation for Alternative Uses for Socks
Where are they all going????

I'm intruiged by these alternative uses for socks. However there is one minor problem. My socks seem to vanish at an alarming rate. I have no idea where they are going. They literally disappear.
If anyone has any ideas let me know

its the sock god. dude lives at the back of the washin machine (looks a bit like buddah) an eats random socks with chopsticks, only one from each pair though! a girlfriend of mine found a way round this, she would swap one sock with any other (willing) person with cool socks thus having no pairs and confusin the sock god!!!!!!!!

There is a simple explanation for the disappearing sock phenomena.
All socks eventually get holes in. Over time, there are so many holes that a sock reaches critical mass, or 'Hole Event Horizon'.
This combines with the spinning motion in a washing machine to cause a rip in the fabric of sock-time, and the sock in question is sucked into a wormhole leading to some point next week. The sock reappears, exactly where you left it, but by this time the matching sock has been thrown out or is hurtling through sock-time itself.
Yes it's rubbish. But I assure you that I didn't come up with it myself.

Very nice
A thought just occured to me... I think the back of my sock drawer links to one of these wormholes. In my case, the socks are coming in it seems. Every time I do laundry I have a hard time closing my sock drawer. It's overflowing with socks. There are NO good socks in it mind you, just a bunch that either are matchless or have holes in. So maybe everyone elses (well, everyone that wears the same type of socks I wear) socks are hyperspacing their way into MY sock drawer and the ones I lose are warping to someone elses....
Or maybe I'm just a typical bachelor and have a hard time throwing ANYTHING out.

I think that it is very possible that you are just ignoring the fact that your socks have gone on a walk and lost their way home. It's well known that all household objects like a wander, why not socks!! Most of them walk due to all the fungi etc on it...
