A Conversation for Buddy Holly - Singer/Songwriter
lasting only 18 months? Horse puckey.

"Buddy Holly was one of the most influential founders of Rock 'n' Roll, despite his career tragically lasting only 18 months."
I don't know how one would come up with that time span.
Are we supposed to believe that that was the duration between his learning his first guitar chord and his death, or his being signed to Norman Petty and getting a record pressed and his death, or what?
Buddy's "career" began in high school. His songwriting "career" began very soon after he learned his first chords. His successful "career" may be charted from the day his first single hit the charts, but I think that is a bit callous and shallow.
I also wouldn't call him a "founder" of anything.
