A Conversation for Public Transport Etiquette

Mobile phones

Dont know if anyone has mentioned this before, but I would say that mobile phones are a big pain on public transport (and one which most of us including myself are guilty of).

Firstly I think it is unpolite to have your ringer at full volume (esp as others may not share your taste in ring tone), an even better idea is to just have the vibration alert on.

Secondly is shouting down thw mobile (if I hear the shout NO I'M ON THE BUS/TRAIN at 100 dB one more time smiley - grr) to my knowledge most people dont shout on their house phone so why on the mobile?

Anyway rant over smiley - smiley, I think I just wanted to say please use your mobiles discretly on public transport.

Because most house phones are not fighting against so much background noise. A mobile phone user has the sound of the other passenger, the bus/train engine, plus all the outside noise this is why they think they have to shout.

In actual fact it should be the person on the other end doing the shouting. smiley - winkeye
