hi Peta,
'Peter', eh? Well, at least people don't start 'baaaaaaaing' at you when they hear your name.
'Geek nerd person'??? I also can't wait for Reloaded to open. I'm just hoping I won't be disappointed.
btw, I don't actually take Valium. Occasionally I have to take a mild tranq because I get panic attacks and otherwise I can't go outside. I can't remember what it's called but I don't notice any 'effect' except for calming down a bit.
As for differentiating between fantasy and reality, I've also never been sure about *this* reality we all seem to share being the only *real* one. Sometimes I find that concept exciting and interesting, other times it scares the heckity out of me.
Also, is there much difference between a remembered Christmas and an imagined one?
Okay, seriously jonesing for some here, so gotta go.

,
Duckie and I live in Cambridge, she (I believe) for her whole life, though I may be wrong about that, I for about 4 1/2 years now, before which I lived in Oxford, Birmingham, and Harare, Zimbabwe in that order starting from the longest ago. And before you ask, no I CAN'T speak 'African', for a start there isn't any such thing. I can speak a bit of Shona, the language they spoke in the Mashonaland area of Zim where we lived, but I've forgotten most of what I knew of that.
(I just realised something, if anyone's interested; Erdbeere isn't completely unrelated to the English - Erde means earth so it's an earth berry. Sorry about that!)

hi Clare,
I used to live in Bristol (did I tell you that already?). Just for about a year and a half and I think I saw the sun - maybe - half a dozen times. Nice city though.
What exams are coming up this week?
I'm hoping to get my new computer this week - yipee! Though of course I'll have to transfer files and get it all set up - daunting thought. I had asked them at the shop if they could give me the Windows programme in English but they said they only offer that option in Cataluna. But maybe I can get an instruction booklet in English? It's just that I find these things difficult enough to understand in my own language. So if I disappear for a few days it's cos I'll be struggling away here learning to drive my new Jag. Can't wait!

Hi az,
Yeah, I went to your home page and saw you lived in Bristol. My uncle lives there . This week I've got German (ok) Chemistry (yuk), Maths calculator (ok if I revise) and Greek (hard but fun). Hardly done any revision though; I've been ploughing my way through that partial birth abortion thread I found on your site. and my deepest sympathy for something I hope I never have to go through, that Dr sounds a right tw*t!
Isn't it cool when Hoo gets angry? At other people I mean. At oneself is just scary...
Good luck with the new computer

hi Clare,
Wow, you ploughed your way through all that abortion thread? Impressed. And thanks for the hug.
Yeah, it's pretty cool when Hoo gets angry - at other people. But never fear, he'll never get angry at you. Though he may give you 'the hard line' from time to time if he feels you need it. But then you know he's only doing it because he cares - otherwise he wouldn't waste his time.
Good luck with the exams!
kissitos,

Hoo, '[I]Shalln't do it again' It's nice to see that someone still cares about his grammar. (or care- subjunctive?)
TrismEgistus, I suppose, because Apollo was Greek, but should it not be TrismegistOs? I guess maybe it's like Dionysis/sus, who in Greek is Dionusos, which just looks weird.
, The abortion thread was interesting, it made me stop and think (always an achievement in itself). I think that, while it may not always be right for a woman to have an abortion, it is *always* wrong to stop her having one. Just trying this out here as I'm not sure I'm making sense...
Patito, are you there? We haven't heard from you for days (well, I've seen you at school, but all these nice people here will think I murdered you then sold your jewellery to bribe the exam markers
And hello Peta, and anyone else who reads this. I haven't got anything in particular to say to you, but have a nice Tuesday anyway

holitas Clara,

I think you should go and post that on the abortion thread - succinct and splendid wisdom, mi chiquita.
Seems like it's just you and me around lately. Wonder where everyone else has gone.
Patito has jewellery??? How much did you get for it?
okay, maybe see you on the abortion thread.

I know, where is everyone?
Glad you liked my comment Az, I am wary of soundbites and catch phrases which is why I expanded upon it in the other thread.
I don't know how much Patito's jewellery would fetch, probably enough to bribe at least one overworked and underpaid teacher.(We just treated the Greek teacher to a lavish picnic in the hope she would take the hint. Kind of spoilt it when my friend spilled Lemonade all over her)

I'm still here.
Disappointed nobody's changed the subject line recently...
Not got much to say, and I've got work in the morning so it's off to bed for me...
G'night.

But what did you do with her body? Duck a l'orange?

Clare Posted May 20, 2003
No, I sold it to the school cooks (on Thursdays there is always a very suspicious looking grey *something* described as 'Roast Dinner' . I had the veggieburger)

hi Clare,
I bet you haven't done away with our dear Patito at all - most likely she is just studying madly for her exams whilst wearing all of her jewellery.
Was it her or you that said something like - 'my parents told me I didn't need luck to pass my next exam, I needed a miracle!'
Not overly encouraging that.
I've been battling with crazed and drunken football fans all day. The UEFA Cup final is being played here tomorrow and the streets are filled with these guys. Can't understand why so many of them seem to need to take off their shirts and expose their big fat white bellies to the public. Ick. Anyhow, has made getting home quite difficult at times, both physically and aesthetically.
A Spanish person wouldn't be caught dead walking around in the city without a shirt. But all these feriners who are suddenly here somehow think they are at the beach? Shudder.

The UEFA Cup Final was between the Scots and the Portuguese and was therefore fought in Spain.
With apologies to Sellars and Yeatman.

It's alright for some who haven't got exams. Scum, I say, compulsory education and testing for all over-thirties.

Well, that's just what you say, Fnord
I've never taken an exam in my entire life - was in a system that exempted one from final exams if one kept up a high level of marks throughout the year. Which I always did.
What exam should I be taking now??? Dare I ask?
