hope not.

Hi az, glad you're back. I'm back too, in case anyone noticed I'd gone .
Not *exactly* sure what your're talking about, so I guess I'll just sit here quietly til I figure it out...
we could be here a while

Indeed, the origins of OK are not known.
Hi again, Clare and az.

Clare,
Well, we can't *both* sit back - I'm not sure what we are talking about either. Perhaps it's the usual. In which case . . . whatever.
At least I know I'm not Zorba the Greek!
And you?
az

Hi,
I'm okay, I'm just filling in. I'll be away soon, I'm doing some work, maybe get myself some money, in London (so it'll pay well, hopefully). How's your life?

hi Roadkill,
I'm just in the middle of watching Cabaret on DVD - had to stop in order to feed cats and so checked in here. Then got waylaid by a few threads - same old story. But now must go back and watch the end of the film. Have you seen it? If not, you must!
az
London sounds good! Hope that works out.

Researcher 185550 Posted Jul 19, 2003
Ah right.
I've not seen it, I won't ask you to describe it now, let you get back to your film.
I'm going to try to catch Hackers at 9:35 tonight on 4, that's going to be good.

Evenin' all,
az,
I'm not Zorba the Greek either (at least, I'm fairly sure...)
Roadkill,
A job in London? Wow, sounds kinda cool. What are you going to do?
Clare

Clare,
I have a feeling that *if* you were Zorba the Greek you would know. At least this is how I know. That I'm not.
Roadkill,
You HAVE NEVER SEEN Cabaret??? You have not lived!

I'm not actually sure what I'm going to do. I do know I'm working for British Land, and I will be at the bottom of the heap.
I will endeavor to see Cabaret.

Hello, Kids! I'm Henry the Hulk Hound, and I'm here to warn you not to watch the movie, The Hulk! Thankyou for your time.
Noggin - is absolutely right, and Az - has earned respect for knowing the meaning of 23 skidoo. I missed Hackers because I was watching the Hulk, which sucks, but just caught a glimpse of Mars Attacks.

Hackers was nothing special, and I practically know Mars Attacks! off by heart.
Awix gave The Hulk an all right review, though. But the ads for it have really p1$$ed me off so I'm not going.

How so?
It wasn't "allright". Every single review I've read so far (and I'm a paperboy who reads all the papers before he delivers them (indeed, that is why I'm a paperboy)) has said it could have been so much more, there were some nice directorial tricks, but it was ultimately many long minutes of procrastination.

Echo-o-o-o-o...
I just came on here to say:
In the new movie "Agent Codie Banks", which has Frankie Muniz and Jennifer Duff in it, and is pretty good by the way, it's a James Bond type spy movie rip off kiddie version, and the evil corporation is called "E.R.I.S" and the lead henchman is Jacques Molay. I think that's incredibly significant. You probably don't, even if you do know why, but I do. It means that a Discordian/Erisian/Illuminati Fan/Illuminati/Conspiracy Fan has penetrated the heart of Hollywood script writing, and more is soon to come...

I only read "Play", in the Times, and that gave it two stars (I think) which is all right, if not according to the rating they give, then in my book at least. And Awix was gentle to it as well.
Conversely I thought "Agent Codie Banks" looked like it's going to be atrocious (not as atrocious as Legally Blonde 2, but still atrocious), just an excuse to give Frankie Muniz some cheap scatalogical gags. But apparently not .

You don't read the Culture on sundays in the Times? Ridiculous. I'm not an experienced film critic, but I wasn't looking for arthouse masterpeices or metaphorical works of genius, just a little bit of easy and light and mildly amusing gadgetry. Which was exactly what I got.

Researcher 185550 Posted Jul 25, 2003
No I don't read Culture. It's far too pretentious, and only starts the Film and Tv half way throught. With Play you're straight in there. Plus you can win movie tickets, plus there's that thing at the back with album covers that I quite like, even if I can never do it.
I see where you're coming from, but my take on it is this. When you're twelve- and Frankie Muniz, although allegedly 16, does look twelve, it's fun to think about being a secret agent. But seeing someone else do it, and furthermore, seeing a twelve- year- old, talking to his computer and shooting gadgety things out of his belt while riding one of those cool floating skateboard things (I want one) just doesn't appeal to me, because it's so patently ridiculous that it ruins the dreams for me.
