Me and Mrs -the-gardener had a very memorable stay in Acadia National Park some time back. In fact, we drove from there up to New Brunswick and had a great time. Some folks we met in Acadia warned us against travelling in northern Maine, which they seemed to think was inhabited by... well by something even wilder and more dangerous than Boston motorists.

Nevertheless, it wasn't quite the sequel to 'Deliverance' that we'd been led to expect. Although we did stick to the main road.

Haha, as a native Mainer, I stay out of the northern regions (called the nether-regions by most people). They say that the inbred cannibals are just a rumor, but all rumor has basis in fact. Be scared!
