A Conversation for The Brass Eye Paedophile Special

A point which I raised on the Channel 4 chat rooms at the time:
Earlier the same week, Channel 4 aired an episode of "South Park" on the theme of paedophilia, where the kids became "special friends" of delegates to an American paedophile conference, and which ended with a "moving" speech where one of the delegates used extracts from the US constitution to show that sex with an eight-year old should be a "normal part of a loving relationship". There was no media coverage of this, no complaints reported, no fuss.
Does this mean that South Park fans are all supporters of paedophilia? Does it mean that they just have a better sense of humor? As no politicians complained, does that mean that they *do* watch South Park?...
The biggest difference between the two shows is that South Park made paedophiles look stupid, while Brass Eye made the media look stupid. Note which one the media chose to persecute, to the point of phoning up MPs and describing the "shocking contents" of the programme...
(Both shows were hilarious, btw... )

The Brass Eye Special was somewhat topical, so I guess it's less likely to be repeated - but I don't see why it shouldn't be, provided they follow the BTC's advice and have slightly clearer pre-show warnings. 'No children were harmed during the making of this program', or somesuch?

I suspect Chris Morris might be slightly more reluctant to repeat this one, as it lead to death threats on his family and hoax bomb threats.

Although this is completely useless now, Channel 4 did repeat the show on Tuesday 14th May (I think) and Sunday 19th May with the addition of warnings.
An interesting thing to note also was the description in the TV listings about the show. Even in the apparently neutral TV listings, they gave a cold shoulder to the show and even, attacked Chris Morris in the description for "The Day Today" which played the same night.
This was in, not surprisingly, the Daily Mail.

Oh, and it was Monday 13th; I saw it round at a friend's house...

What's most funny now is that everyone just thinks the media were stupid and the program was just made more popular amongst most people. When it was shown second time round, loads of people wanted to watch it.

THESE PEOPLE THAT PHONE TV STATIONS ETC. TO COMPLAIN ARE PATHETIC.
JUST BECAUSE SOMETHING DOESN'T FIT THEIR VIEW THEY PHONE UP IN OUTRAGE...
THEY NEVER THINK OF >NOT< WATCHING... BUT INSTEAD WATCH FIVE MINUTES AND TELL PEOPLE THAT THEY SHOULD THINK WHAT THEY DO.

Dw's P., can I suggest a visit to your local Maplin shop (or equivalent) where, for £7 or so you will be able to buy a nice new keyboard where the Caps Lock works properly and the Shift key doesn't jam down...

Has anyone seen the bit with the gum seller in 'Clerks'? Anyway, the corporations have probably started a secret advertising strategy to infiltrate forums with their products. Or of course he could have been talking about your constant shouting.
