A Conversation for Dealing with Sibling Rivalry
Half Sisters vs Real Sisters
Gypsy Started conversation Jan 23, 2003
I come from a family of 3 sisters and one brother. 1 sister and brother have the same mother and father as I. two sisters have different fathers. one of my sisters I just found out about recently. One of my half sisters has just passed. I never even thought about her being only half of a sister. There was no difference between her and my full brother and sister. I think we were even closer, as there seemed to be more sibling rivalry (another discussion) between me and my whole sister. It even seems funny to be making a distinction between the two. I really think that there was a differance more from my mother. My father was trouble, and my sister's father was a hero, who passed at a young age. I think my mother always looked at my sister as being better than we were. I think she resented us, especially me, as she had to marry my father. Maybe the only difference I felt for my half sister, that I didn't feel about my other sister and brother. Was jealousy. I always wished that her father was mine, instead of the one that was mine. I know this is wrong, now that I am grown, but I remember growing up with that thought. As for my other sister ( another discussion) I have never met her as she was adopted out. But somehow I always knew I had another sister somewhere.
