Helmet section a bit unbalanced
trevorparsons Started conversation Apr 15, 2008
The short section on helmets isn't quite up to Just zis Guy's usual standard. In two sentences, the implication is made that helmet sceptics would accept that helmets provide significant improved safety, and that those who see helmets as a wise precaution are in the majority.
The former is certainly not the case -- see http://cyclehelmets.org for a great deal of evidence on that.
The latter is difficult to assess. It may be that the majority of people in the UK, who do not cycle, believe that cyclists should wear crash helmets, but most cyclists in the UK still do not wear them. On a global scale helmet-wearing cyclists must be a small minority.
