Just a quick note to say that The Wicker Man has now surfaced on a British (PAL) dvd.
It's a double set, which features the original 87 minute theatrical cut, as well as the 'Director's Cut', which is listed at 99 minutes. I am assuming that this discrepancy is due to the running time differences between the US and UK video formats.
Also included are Mark Kermode's documentary, shot for Channel 4, as well as interviews with Lee and hardy. It has an additional soundtrack which is Le, Hardy and Woodward doing a commentary on the film.

If it's the same as the US disc, then the Hardy/Lee interview is a) hidden (use the directional buttons to highlight the wicker man on the menu and press enter) and b) one of the single most unintentionally-funny interviews ever. the interview is clearly such a fanboy that he's falling over himself to fawn and gush about the movie and his guests, spending a good five minutes of build-up to his first question while the guests sit there cringing with embarrassment/loving every second of it smiley - smiley

It really is a superb disc. Its producers, Anchor Bay, have just one a Saturn award for Significant contribution to sci-fi. smiley - cheers

Do you have an MVC near you? It's a lot cheaper there.
