Hey, Gnomon, what do you think of the Moon Map BBC story this is linked to? It lloks interesting to me, but not exactly convincing.....

I'm not convinced either; If you look at enough random squiggles looking for a map of the moon, you will find one!
This is a technique used by many people who want to believe something;
1. Decide (roughly) what you want to 'discover'
2. Look through the billions of examples available until you find one that looks remotely like what you are looking for
3. Proclaim this to be a breakthrough!
