It's a very good article.
Just one question - how did this get past the medieval moderation system here?

It's not a mediaeval moderation system - how can it be, since they didn't have computers in the middle ages?
I'm quite surprised myself, but in no means unhappy. I guess it must be because h2g2 is based in the UK, and as yet there's no law like the DMCA here. I say yet, because the EU is reportedly considering such things. I hope they decide not to...

I guess the basic answer is that there's nothing illegal in the article, nor anything that contravenes the House Rules in any other way, so the article was acceptable as is (well, actually a link to DeCSS on a T-shirt was removed because it was 'commercial' ).
Having said that, when the article first got through the peer review, and then when it was pending, it fluxed in and out of 'This article is being referred to the community team', for about a week each time. But apparently the BBC attack lawyers got onto it, and decided it was okay. In fact, I strongly suspect that /without/ the support of an organisation with serious lawyers, h2g2 would have been less likely to allow the article through, since they would find it harder to get a definitive legal opinion.

I remember too, one of those temporarily moderated posts was mine, with a prime number being also executable DeCSS code.

Congratulations with some great jobs.
Now I hope you don't complain about illegal posting of copyrighted numbers, or it will be removed again

Welcome FatPhil,
can you please add something to your personal space too, so you can be greeted officially?
Just go to 'My Space', push 'edit page' and fill in whatever you like (as long as it stays within the rules of course)
Have fun on the site
