Perhaps my pain threshold is quite high, but I rather like the feeling of a static electric shock. Which is just as well, because due to my predilection for cheap clothing, I get them quite a lot.

Traveller in Time Reporting Bugs -o-o- Broken the chain of Pliny -o-o- Hired Posted Jan 3, 2006
Traveller in Time once working in an Electro Static Discharge free laboratory
"There are shoes available with build in discharger. Aviod wearing any synthetic material, drink enough water, put plants in every room in the house (they increase the moisture in the air). Avoid ceramic, glass and synthetic furniture and do not play with balloons.
Actually I do not like it to get a discharge, though it feels much better to draw a spark then to walk around charged. As with cars, car sickness is heavy reduced in cars with a discharge strip. "

TRiG (Ireland) A dog, so bade in office Posted Jan 8, 2007
I remember, as a kid, touring around the Watchtower offices in New York. They has a deep shaggy carpet, and metal drinking fountains. Great fun! We shuffeled our feet as much as we could, and then touched people: Zap! Or the water fountains, to zap ourselves.
