Today's Daily Mail carried a story about a lady whose presence around electrical appliances seems to cause them to fail - spectacularly.

Apparently her body is capable of storingsubstantial amounts of static electricity, generated by friction during her normal movements.

This echoes a similar story concerning a lady called Debbie Wolf who claims to be a 'slider' -someone whose presence interferes with household appliances and who can turn street lights off.

Apparently, this phenonomenon has a name - Street Light Interference Syndrome (SLI):
