1. Buying thru the internet is a great way to find out what sort of price you might expect to pay, either for new or used cars.
There are some sites that will try to find the best price for a new car for you, depending on the options you specify.
Some of the magazines with ads for used cars have good internet sites where you can search locally or nationally for the model you're interested in.
2. There are some very good car brokers that can get almost unbeatable prices for new cars. A sound broker will not ask you to send them any money; rather, they put you in touch with the dealer, and make their money by taking a cut from the dealer. The dealer's happy because he gets lots of orders thru the broker; the broker's happy because he's getting a cut on a deal simply as a middle man; and you're happy because you can't believe it's that easy to get a good price from a genuine dealer - it's a win-win-win situation!
