broelan

it's the *only* way to kill time! just ask anyone on the 'most prolific posters' list on the info page smiley - laugh

but since i can't afford a laptop with a wireless modem (lucky for you smiley - winkeye), when i'm not near a computer i read. i have a book in the drawer of my desk at work, one on my nightstand, one in the back seat of my car, one in my carryall. at any given point in time i'm usually in the middle of about three books.

if you're not prone to read (can't imagine how you got here, then) a small handheld game is handy, like a gameboy or other pocket game. i'm *addicted* to tetris, but i also play a lot of electronic uno.

now.... if i only had the time to kill.....

You can call me TC

My internet connection has been up the spout for several weeks at work, so I can't go on line when there's nothing to do. And Solitaire has also been lopped off.

So I write. I have a head full of ideas and I write and write and write. I keep everything on a 3 1/2" floppy in my handbag as *.txt files and can carry on wherever I am, however the nearest PC is configured.

This explains the number of entries I've put up recently, based mainly on things found tumbling about in my head.

If there's no computer in sight, a couple of blank sheets of A4 paper folded up in your wallet can serve for writing letters to friends or your parents, or, if you can draw, for sketching.

Other very small things that can provide lots of entertainment are a few dice - there are endless games which can be played with these - a pack of cards, or just pencil and paper for playing hangman, devising crosswords, playing consequences .... depending on how many people are there.

Otherwise, it is useful to have a nice book handy, as broelan says. Or at least a diary, and you can make plans for what you are going to do for the next couple of weeks. If I stuck to all those plans I made when I had time to kill, I could have tidied and cleaned my house from top to bottom dozens of times.
