This is only true to a point. If you break time down into small enough increments it resumes normal passage.
I have found that when waiting for the last ten minutes of a shift to pass say I have six hundred seconds more to go. If you say or think it very slowly it will use up ten seconds. Repeat the process sixtry times and it will be time to punch out.
