One can hardly provide a thorough treatment of the subject of Medical Quackery without mention of the healing effect of placebos.
In fact, all of the field of Medical Quackery is pretty much based on the idea that substances that bear no relation whatsoever to either the cause the cure of a medical condition can be profitably marketed to people who are either gullible, or have a predisposition to ignore anything having to do with actual science, including medicine.
This also includes the multi-billion dollar per annum marketing of homeopathic (misspelling intended) substances of all description.
Are YOU gullible enough? Really?
