My initials are, as you can probably figure for yourself ARF... Which was interesting the first time I heard it, until I began to hear myself being called a dog because of it.
I do data entry, so I key in a lot of names daily. You wouldn't believe some of the names these people have. Richard Richards, William Williams, etc. Had a B McAnally, Mercedes Forty Forty, James Bastard, among some rather dirty others.

I have also known and worked with an Andrew Nurse and a Paul Nurse, unrelated but both qualified nurses. And two Drs. Payne, one and Anaesthetist (anaesthesiologist for all you Americans out there) and one a Pain specialist.
I have also looked after a Michael Jackson, a James Brown (AAaw!...I feel good!), Anita Harris, Richard Prior, to name but a few.

I had a professor named HM Brinkley Sprunt. He did a lot with Intel so you can find a lot of references to him if you search.

I recall another poor unfortunate, a nursing officer in my early days (end of the 1970's).
Her name was Miss Hunt. She was very large indeed. Her two forenames were Brenda Frances!
Her abbreviated nickname was BFC. It rhymed of course.

I was at school with the talented sci-fi author China Mieville. I remember him saying that a. he was the only male China in the UK, although there were five female Chinas. b. his hippie parents had looked through a dictionary (not a name dictionary, a regular one) to find a beautiful word, and China was the second one that they found. Much as he'd had to get used to all the East Asian and ceramic taunts, he was pleased not to be called Banyan.

I went to school with a Rosie Hogsflesh.
She was actually a pretty and charming girl, but I chiefly remember her for her name and the fact she fainted once in cookery.
And I once met a chap called Arthur Pong. Ooh, that ain't arf a pong... His pals were merciless. He swore that when he got married he'd take his wife's surname.
