Mmmm...Octopus cut into chunks and fried with olive oil and hot smoked paprika is a great favourite of mine, and very popular in Spain as a Tapas dish.
Unfortunately one never sees octopus on a UK fish counter - or at least I haven't, has anyone else?

I've seen octopus on the fish counter in my local Safeway, near Chester. They seem to take risks, experimenting from time to time with fish they are in danger of not selling. It's not clear whether they're semi-independent or Safeway employees.

Fresh Octopus can be bought from a fish stall on Watford market. Most decent fish mongers should be able to obtain it.
I have just bought 800g of frozen gutted baby octopus from the Oriental City on the A4 at Burnt Oak for £4.59, hence searching on the web for octopus.
