A Conversation for Madeira

One comment on Madeira is that it's extremely difficult to get hold of anything worth having in the UK.
I have always found Malmsey too sweet and Sercial is fine as a sort of sherry substitute, but still doesn't quite get my vote. Somehow Boal and Verdelho just don't quite work (and some Boal is basically as sweet as the Malmsey). My favourite is Terrantez (pron. the -ez as -esh), but that's fiendishly difficult to get hold of even on the island.

Don't know whether you still drink Madeira, or even if you are still around HooToo, but I recently found DrinkFinder (.co.uk) to be a good site for obscure beverages, and they do have a 1977 Terrantez - it's £50 thou'.
Don't know what the policy on links is these days, but I'll post the links, and they just might survive:

Or simply: http://www.drinkfinder.co.uk and select the Madeira category.

Thank you. I am still around and still occasionally sup a small madeira. I had found drinkfinder and one or two others - on my favs at home rather than work - so I do manage to keep myself in Terrantez, but it is expensive as you point out.
