The culture listing here doesn't mention the Los Alamos Historical Museum and Archives. The museum is housed in the historic Guest House of the Los Alamos Ranch School, Gen. Groves' favorite place to stay during the Manhattan Project. It (the museum) has information on the geological formation of the Pajarito Plateau, the settlement of the ancestral Pueblo Indians, homesteaders, the ranch school, and, of course, the Manhattan Project -- the building of the world's first atomic bombs. The archives is located in the west wing and the attic of Fuller Lodge, a fabulous upright log lodge built in the 1920s for the ranch school. It contains thousands of documents, photographs, and artifacts on the history of Los Alamos. The museum and archives are both run by the Los Alamos Historical Society, which also publishes books on the area history. Admission to the museum is free!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
