the Info regarding CAPD

Hi

This a great article, but ther infomation regarding CAPD, or APD as it is now is slightly dated.
The Medical Research Council have published a pamphlet about APD which is the van guaed for tyheir first five year APD research program.
A text only copy of this pamphlet can be downloaded or viewed on line at
http://apd.apduk.org/mrcihrapd.htm

APD is a recognised cause of Dyslexia, rather Auditory Processing Disorder has dyslexia as a symptom, as do many other information processing disorders, and so Auditory dyslexia is merely an old shorthand for APD.

hi dolfrog,

sorry to take so long to notice this posting!

Currently the entry says about CAPD:

"Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD) can be likened to 'auditory dyslexia'. To a person with CAPD, sounds are often perceived as being garbled. CAPD is often more troublesome in noisy environments like restaurants."

So you think throughout this section CAPD should lose the central and become APD; would this paragraph be better?

"Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) can cause suffers to have difficulty understanding things which are said to them, even though they can hear them perfectly. APD can be more troublesome in noisy environments like restaurants, or when a sufferer is confronted with a group of people all talking."

I'm no expert on APD or AS, so apologies if this is all wrong... I looked on your apduk.org website; it's very interesting.
