I've always wanted to play EQ but I couldn't see myself forking out ten bucks every month...and I could always just have a game of D+D if I wanted to roleplay.
Your article, however, is interesting enough for me to want to give it a go - now if only I can convince the better half that $10 a month is a necessary expense...

I bougth Everquest last month but have done nothing but play the tutorial so far.
Unfortunately I too have a better half and think she might not apprecaite me spending my *entire* life online. She already thinks I'm obsessed with h2g2. Shucks, moi?

Well, try look at it this way. You can play as much as you want, but once you get to a point where you aren't having $10 worth of fun per month, it's time to quit.
I'm an *extremely* casual player, myself. I usually play 2 or 3 nights out of any given week. I've been doing this for nearly 2 years now. I still get my money's worth each month, so I'm still there playing.
