Coping with Arthritis

What is Arthritis?
Arthritis is a painful medical condition which is incurable. The word 'arthritis' comes from the Greek word arthron meaning joint. So arthritis is 'inflammation of the joint' or joints.
As one who has suffered with this condition since the age of 30, this researcher can assure you that it is painful.
If anyone you know is ever diagnosed with it, please offer them tea and sympathy.
Different types
This is the type of arthritis in which the joints on the extremities become so swollen and inflamed that the fingers, toes and hands of the sufferer become deformed.
This condition affects hips, the spine, the neck, knees and elbows. Effectively anywhere there is a 'ball and socket'. Once this arthritis sets in, the only treatment is an operation to replace the affected joint.
Treatment
Some joints can be replaced with artificial new ones. These can give the patient a new lease of life.
With rheumatoid arthritis, dietary supplements like cod liver oil capsules, taken daily, can alleviate the symptoms. This researcher takes an anti-inflammatory drug called 'Relifex' on prescription from her GP.
Some tips
Massage is good.
Exercise in moderation is beneficial.
Keep warm.
Move around a lot.
Take cod liver oil.
Try cider vinegar (but I cannot guarantee that you will like it)
The only good thing about arthritis
You will know when it is going to rain.
