A Conversation for Tips on Moving House
What to throw away ...

Make a list. Do not just make it a list of items, but a list of 'item groups, combined with a best-to-be-discharged-of-after-date'. Examples:
Clothes: best to be thrown away if not worn within the last year.
Furniture: best to be thrown away if not opened within the last 6 months (including the contents)
Memorabilia: best to be thrown away if you do not know why you kept it in the first place
Dishes: best to be thrown away if not used within the last 3 months.
Do not make any exceptions from that list, you'll regret it.
