An excellent Entry on a fascinating artist - very well done. smiley - ok
One of the most surreal experiences I've had lately was when I was shopping in a supermarket, and suddenly "Where The Wild Roses Grow" appeared on the background music tape. It's not every day that you get to choose your groceries whilst being serenaded with a pretty little ditty about someone having their head smashed in with a rock... smiley - bigeyes

Mr. Cogito

Hello,

I recently (well, a year ago), I got to see Nick Cave perform in a benefit for the Harry Smith Project, an anthology of old American folk, blues, and spiritual songs. Anyway, he worked there with the McGarrigle sisters and did a fiery version of "John the Revelator." If he weren't from Australia, you'd swear Nick Cave was a fire and brimstone preacher from the American South. He has that intensity.

Yours,
Jake

I know what you mean. At the same time, I thought when I saw this Entry that if you'd just been given the list of Referenced Entries from the side of the page, and been asked "who is this Entry about?", you'd have had a very good chance of getting it right. "Death", "Australia", "Love" and "What Is God?" - who else could it be but old Nick? smiley - winkeye

Hi Guys!

Thanks for the positive comments about the article. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I did writing it. Speaking of "shopping with Nick" I was surprised to hear "Halleluia" from the new album being played in the Virgin Megastore in Bristol the other day. All these teeny shoppers purchasing the latest Westlife masterpiece to the strains of "twenty pretty girls to carry them down, twenty deep holes to bury them in." -- quite surreal really!...

Chig.

Hopelessly Paranoid

I have to confess my ignorance, as the only Nick Cave song I know or can remember without aid is Red Right Hand (which appeared on the supercommercial Scream soundtracks: its great!). Following up the article, I was surprised to find little mention of that song anywhere on his official sites. Armed with this knowledge, I reckon I'll ask my sister's boyfriend (who is apparently a big fan) if I can borrow some albums...

Listen more Cave, yes, good
