A Conversation for Preventing Sock Loss

Lost Socks

Perhaps some help is needed, and this may just be the forum.

Last year I embarked on a business trip that was to last 5 days, and eventually lasted three and a half months. Of course this means that the very few pairs of socks had to endure a whole lot of hotel washings and dryings.

The problem is that I started out with seven pairs, and came home with seven pairs. Everyone knows that this is clearly impossible, so I must have done something wrong.

For the past 12 months I've been worrying that I might repeat this grave error - so any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Ahhhhhhhhh!

My socks are of wool - this may be part of the glue that binds the mystery. The comparative woollen-ness of my hosery has never seemed to stand in the way of their loss previously, but it's a thread worth pursuing.

Thanks

I now, thanks to you and the guide, have it firmly screwed into the construction of the memory the simple truth that cotton socks are going come missing unless extreme care is taken.

Here I was just thinking it was Africa.
