You missed an appearance by the British.
I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but there's a British slave in Asterix and the Laurel Wreath, when Asterix is trying to sell himself and Obelix to Caesar's major domo. Asterix pitches them cheap to make a quick sale (taking over from the flustered slave merchant), but has to haggle with the Brit, who is worried that he'll force the prices down for the whole stall, insisting that: "Britons never will be cut-price slaves".
The Prophet.

Thank you The Prophet, I was sitting here thinking of that one, but couldn't quite remember where it was!
Excellent entry Inkwash! Didn't know there were many other h2g2 Asterix fans, having only run across one, but glad to know there are others out there! You know, there really should be an h2g2 Asterix appreciation society!

This is startling! I actually had a reference to the Laurel Wreath in there, but it seems to have been cut from the edited version...
