A Conversation for Sexual Orientation
MY WORD! My sex/gender.

I'm what I like to refer to as a "lesbian by default", that is I'm a bi-sexual in a long term comitted relationship with another woman... another bi-sexual woman.
I was also born a hermaphrodite. A very rare condition, one that many people have a hard time understanding that it is a very real condition with no known cause. For some reason known best (and only) to the powers that be I was born with both sets of genitalia. So in essance no matter what the gender of my sexual partner, in some aspect it is a gay relationship!
Now, while my SEX may be "both" my gender is definately female! Confused yet? GOOD!

Good for you for speaking up, Jaye Dreamer. This entry has caused a lot of people with interesting stories to do so.
I'm certainly happy to hear yours. It sounds like a very happy ending to what I suspect might have been a rough beginning in some ways. I always like stories where the good guys (and girls) win.
By the way, I have seen multiple requests for an article covering the hermaphroditic condition. There is curiosity about what it is, how it is dealt with practically speaking, and how the issue plays out socially. I don't feel qualified to write it, though I'd be happy to assist by tracking down medical terms, statistics, and so forth. If you ever feel particularly kind and want to give it a shot, let me know.
