The Austrian Counterpart of Murray Walker. He broadcasts EVERY GP since 1971 (when ORF, the Austrian Television Company, started live-broadcasts of Formula 1) with only one exception, when he was at the olympic Games in 1984. In his long career he has experienced a lot: One time he was broadcasting a Long Beach GP out of his hotel room, a mile from the track. Someone told him from the TV pictures what happened on the track ("A yellow car overtakes a blue one", ...). Another time he was standing in telephone booth because of an electric failure.
His broadcasting style is quite similar to Murray Walkers, thus splitting Austrian F1-fans in two camps: Those who hate him, and those who would never watch a GP without him. Some of the latter dedicated a website to him, [URL removed by moderator]
