A Conversation for London Cabbies' Shelters

The cabbies shelter on Temple Place does fabulous bacon and egg rolls. You have to take your turn with the cab drivers but it is cheap and well done.

They do tend to use a lot of marg on the roll and when they fry the egg, the pan looks as if it is swimming with oil. However, on a cold winter's day standing in the drizzle it smells wonderful.

I haven't tried their tea. I suspect it is too strong and milky for my taste.

Given you lot work just round the corner (I presume you are in Bvsh Hovse), it may be your best bacon butty buying spot (better than anything on Kingsway anyway). You can then eat them by the river looking at the boats sailing up and down.

We used to be in Bush House but we're further west now in White City by Shepherds Bush

Hmmm, the food hall at the Westfield. How exciting...

It is quite exciting but maybe a bit too extravagant, preferring the old humble lunch box at the minute.smiley - smiley

I think I had in mind the food hall at the base of the Westfeild Marion Shopping Centre in the south of Adelaide.

Not quite the same thing at all. A bit closer to Elephant and Castle than Harrods.

MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship.

I must try that out. The food aspect, I mean.
I am, at some point this Summer, intending a tour of all the shelters, as the entry has wetted my appetite for more information!
